Snapchat allows you to send photos or short videos to your friends via your phone. If anything, it has become one of the most popular social platforms out there, especially among the younger generation. What sets it apart from other camera apps? It gives you the option to send disappearing “snaps.” In other words, the photo or video will be deleted once it’s seen by the other party. On top of that, you’re able to compile different snaps together to create “stories.” You can think of these as special images or videos that you post to your account. Whatever you upload will be visible by you and your friends. Of course, you can delete and edit them whenever you want!
Over the past few years, however, the app has become known for a different feature. Can you guess what it is? That’s right, lenses and filters; they allow you to add certain effects to your snaps, some of which make use of AR and face detection technologies. For instance, you can add easily words to your surroundings or give yourself bunny ears! Some are even two-in-ones in that different effects will activate depending on which camera you use!
Best South Park Snapchat Lens Codes
The “lens” feature was first introduced in 2015. Since then, the amount available on the app has grown tremendously. Why? They released Lens Studio. For those who are unfamiliar with the tool, it allows anyone to make their own filter, which can then be used by others on Snapchat. Thanks to that niffy program, there’s pretty much an effect for everything—if you can think of it, it probably exists!
Take TV shows, for instance—fans aren’t shy about creating lenses for them! Surely, you’ve seen the GoT filters that have been floating around on the internet? Cartoons are no exception either. If anything, there are even more filters for them as opposed to live-action series. Why? They’re easier to make and fun to play around with! Who wouldn’t want to incorporate their favorite cartoons into a snap, right?
Are you a fan of South Park? As it turns out, there are many lenses that are based on the animated sitcom. Want to know which ones there are? Then you’re at the right place! We’ve compiled some of the best South Park Snapchat filters on this page. Want to know what they are? If so, be sure to keep on reading!
Top South Park Snapchat Lenses & Filters for 2019
What better way to show your love for the show than to use one of these filters? Will your friends be able to catch the reference? There’s only one way to find out! Without further adieu, here are some of the best South Park lenses that Snapchat has to offer!
1. Canada Face Snapchat Filter
South Park takes place in Colorado. That doesn’t mean that Canadians don’t show up on the show, though—they do! You probably know that already if you’ve watched the series.
How can you distinguish them from the Americans? They have flappy heads (or hinged heads, whatever you want to refer to them as)! Well, as it turns out, there’s a Snapchat filter for that. That’s right, now you can be Canadian too—South Park style. All you have to do is open up the app and scan the snap code. Your head will change automatically once the camera recognizes your face, which shouldn’t take long at all!
As far as the actual head goes, you’ll have two beady eyes and a bit of hair at the top. Try talking—the mouth will move up and down just like in the animated sitcom!
2. Kyle Broflovski Snapchat Lens
Who’s your favorite South Park character? Did you say Kyle Broflovski? If so, you’ll probably like this filter! How would you like it if you could add him to your snap? Well, that’s exactly what you’d be able to do with the lens!
To get started, open the app. Point your camera at the snap code and you’ll be able to unlock the filter. From there, Kyle, in all his 3D glory, will appear on your screen. Of course, he’ll be wearing his signature green hat! The best part, though, is that you can actually hear him speak. Considering that, you’ll definitely want to turn up your volume! Do you recognize his lines from the show?
3. Fractured But Whole Filter for Snapchat
Did you know that there are several video games based on South Park? Just a couple of years ago, they released South Park: The Fractured But Whole, an RPG game that serves as the sequel to the 2014 title, South Park: The Stick of Truth.
Played in 2.5D, the game allows you to explore South Park, taking questions on the way. Who’s the main character? The raccoon-clawed coon! His crew also includes The Human Kite, the Life-Leeching Mosquito, the Super-Fast Fastpass, the New Kid, and the Super Craig.
In celebration of the game’s release, an exclusive Snapchat filter came out in 2017. It allowed you to transform into different characters from the game, with the title “South Park: The Fractured But Whole” at the top. Unfortunately, however, the lens is no longer active—it was only available for a limited time.
4. South Park 20th Anniversary Snapcode
South Park was first released in the summer of 1997. In other words, the animated sitcom is over 20 years old! In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Comedy Central came out with a limited edition Snapchat lens in 2017.
As you can you see from the example image, the filter allowed you to transform yourself into Kenny. Once it’s activated, your face would appear briefly on the screen before turning into the fourth grader—orange hoodie and all. From there, you’d put your hands together, which would end in electrocution! Sparks would fly and your face would turn into a skull.
At the top of the screen, it would read “South Park: The Twentieth Season”. On the bottom, it would have Comedy Central’s logo along with “Wednesdays” as that’s when it airs. Unfortunately, however, the Snapchat filter is no longer active.
5. PC Principal Snapchat Filter
Remember PC Principal? You know, the principal of South Park Elementary, the school that our protagonists go to? He’s known for his black shades and brown beard—oh, and also his tendency of resorting to violence and punishment with his students. He made his debut in the first season of season nineteen, Stunning and Brave.
Last year, a Snapchat filter came out that let you transform into the bearded principal. Unfortunately, however, it was quickly taken offline due to copyright issues. For this reason, we’re unable to show you what the filter looks like when you use it.
6. South Park Mouth Snapchat Lens
Ever wondered what it would be like to be on South Park? You know, to have your voice super high like Kyle and the others? Well, as it turns out, someone has actually made a filter that’ll transform your voice into that of the MCs! To use it, all you have to do is scan the code, and hold the shutter button down to record a video. Start talking and you’ll see just how different your voice is! If anything, you won’t be able to recognize that it’s you at all.
That’s not the only thing that this filter will do either. It will also change up your looks a bit. You see, it’ll make it so that your mouth takes up half your face! As a matter of fact, it’s so big, it’ll probably end up sticking out your face! Did I also mention that it’ll be super zoomed in? So when you talk, you’ll be able to see your mouth clearly!
Be sure to record a video with this Snapchat lens—let’s see if your friends will be able to recognize “the voice.”
Why Aren’t There More South Park Snapchat Filters?
As you can see, there aren’t too many South Park Snapchat filters out there. Out of the ones that we’ve listed above, only a couple of them are still active. Why? Copyright issues. It’s not that nobody makes lenses for the animated sitcom, it’s just that they don’t last long. Once they’re released, it’s only a matter of time before they’re taken down due to copyright. This is what exactly happened to the PC Principal lens that we mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, this is fairly common for filters that are based on certain shows.
The other South Park lenses such as the 20th-anniversary one were limited time only to begin with; they were only available on the app for a short period of time. It makes sense when you think about it. After all, they’re created to celebrate certain occasions! Will they be coming out with any new South Park filters for Snapchat? It’s hard to say—after all, we’re still waiting for season 23. Who knows, though—they might just come out with a new filter for the season premiere! Until then, however, we only have the two to play around with.
