Snapchat was first released in 2011. Its premise is simple—send a “snap” to a friend and it will automatically self-destruct after a few seconds. In other words, you won’t have to worry about the photo or short video ending up anywhere else on the Internet. If anything, this is one of the main reasons why they became so popular!
The app offers several other features as well. For instance, there’s the ability to show your live location on a map. Want to make things more fun? They also have AR-based filters that you can use to customize your snap. Sending photos and videos has never been more fun!
Thanksgiving Snapchat Lens Codes
Aside from augmented reality filters, they also have ones with face detection technology. How do you use them? It’s easy—all you have to do is long-press in the camera view and the default lenses will appear at the bottom. There are also ones that you can unlock with “snapcodes.”
Nowadays, there’s a filter for almost everything—including holidays. Take Thanksgiving, for instance, you’d be surprised just how many lenses are based around the stat! This isn’t too surprising when you think about it, though—after all, it’s one of the biggest holidays of the year!
So, how about it? Want to show your gratitude with one of these lenses? If so, you’re at the right place! We’ve put together a list of Thanksgiving snapcodes on this page. Which one will you be using?

How about wishing your friends a happy Thanksgiving on Snapchat? We’ve got the perfect lens that you can use! Unlock it and a fall-themed logo will appear toward the bottom of the screen. The words “Happy Thanksgiving” will also be written on the top in cursive, white letters.
The coolest part of the effect, though, is that a bunch of leaves will fall from the top of the screen. If anything, it will really give your snap that “fall” vibe! Interested? Then you’ll want to scan the yellow snap code with your phone. Do that, and you’ll be able to add the overlay to your pictures and videos!
3. Snapchat Thanksgiving Filter
Are you a Snapchatter? If so, you must be familiar with how the app releases new lenses for certain holidays. Yup, you guessed it, they also do that for Thanksgiving! Unlike the other filters, where you have to unlock them with snapcodes, these ones appear right on the camera screen.
A while back, the platform came out with a lens that allowed you to add two turkey legs to your head. You can see the effect in action in the example image above—featuring Bella and Yolanda Hadid. The words “Happy Thanksgiving” are also written in orange bubble leggings at the bottom!
4. It’s Thanksgiving Snapcode
Turkey, anyone? With this Snapchat filter, you’ll be able to add one of these birds to your snap! Don’t get me wrong, though, it won’t be the kind with feathers—if anything, it’ll be more of the “baked to a golden brown” variety. Yup, the kind that you’d see at the dinner table!
What’s funny about this particular turkey dinner is that it dances. You can see for yourself in the example image—it even has two little arms! If you want, you can even add your face (or someone else’s) to the top! Simply choose a photo from your camera roll and it will appear on the head. Pretty funny stuff, huh?
5. Snapchat Thanksgiving Turkey Filter
A few years back, Snapchat added a bunch of face filters to the app—one of which allowed you to turn into a turkey! Released in 2015, the effect gave users a yellow beak, complete with a red snood (the red fleshy bits that dangle off the beaks).
Like most of Snapchat’s default filters, however, it was only available for a limited time. As such, it’s no longer available on the app. You can check out how it worked, though, by looking at the example image above! Pretty realistic, right?

7. Thank You Heart Snapcode
Nothing says “thank you” more than the words themselves! Considering that, why not add them your snap? It’s easier than you think with this Snapchat filter! Activate it and the words will appear in red on your screen. What’s more, is that there will also be a thought bubble with a heart at the top!
That’s not all—take a look at the example image above. See that? Yup, the filter will also add a 3D dancing man to your snap! We’re not sure who he is but who cares? His dance moves are entertaining and that’s all that matters!
8. Snapchat Thanksgiving Leaves Filter
Here’s another filter that Snapchat released for Thanksgiving. As with their other ones, it was added to the carousel, which was accessible from the camera screen. Upon selecting it, yellow and orange leaves would fall from the top of the screen.
In addition to that, there’d be an angelic glow coming from the sky. You can see the filter in action in the example image above. As with their other Thanksgiving lenses, however, it is no longer active.
9. Dancing Turkey Costume Snapcode
Ever wanted to just dress up like a turkey and dance? Well, now you can—you won’t even need a costume! You see, this filter has got you covered. All you need to do is point the camera at yourself and you’ll turn into a dancing bird (your face will appear at the top)!
Check out the example image above—the costume will be orange and shiny. Couple that with the dance moves and you’ll definitely be capturing everyone’s attention! How could you not?

A couple of years back, Snapchat rolled out some new filters that are able to recognize what’s in your snaps. In doing so, it provides contextually-aware graphics. For instance, the app would be able to tell if you’re pointing the camera at yourself or a food item.
One of these new filters, as you can probably guess, worked on various types of foods. As soon as the item is recognized, it would add the words “What Diet?” to the bottom of the screen.
